1. The service

Memoline ("the App", "we") is a personal journaling app presented as a timeline. You can create and manage journals, record entries as text, images or video, sync them across your devices, export your data, and invite others to write a journal with you (a "co-written journal"). These terms cover all of it.

2. Your account

  1. You need an account to use the Service. Your registration details must be accurate, and you’re responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  2. Keep your password safe. We’re not liable for losses caused by a leaked password.
  3. If you sign in with Apple or Google, you must also comply with that platform's terms.
  4. Your account is yours alone — don’t transfer or lend it.

3. Subscriptions and payments

  1. Some features are part of the membership (unlimited journals, video attachments, more images per entry, unlimited photo storage); co-written journals are free — no payment required to invite others to write with you. Current pricing: monthly ¥12 / $4.99; annual ¥88 / $34.99.
  2. You pay through in-app purchase on the App Store / Google Play, and the platform handles billing and refunds. Subscriptions renew automatically; you can cancel any time in your App Store or Play Store settings.
  3. Prices may change with prior notice; what you’ve already paid for doesn’t change.

4. Your content

  1. What you write stays yours. You give us only the licence we need to run the Service — storing, syncing and transmitting it, and showing it to the people you invite.
  2. In a co-written journal, everything any member writes is visible to the others. Choose carefully who you invite.
  3. You warrant that your content doesn't infringe anyone else's rights and contains nothing unlawful.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

We may remove violating content and suspend or ban violating accounts.

6. Intellectual property

The App's name, logo, interface design, code and related IP belong to the operator. You may not copy, modify, decompile or redistribute them without permission.

7. Disclaimer

  1. The Service is provided "as is". We work to keep it stable and secure, but we can’t promise it will never fail or go down.
  2. Our storage provider keeps redundant backups, but please export anything important regularly.
  3. For losses caused by events outside our control — force majeure, third-party outages, or problems with your own device — our liability is whatever the law requires.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or punitive damages arising from use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the last 12 months (or ¥100, whichever is higher).

9. Termination

  1. You may delete your account at any time; your data is then erased (see our Privacy Policy).
  2. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach.
  3. The sections that by nature should survive — IP, disclaimer, liability limits — stay in effect after termination.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in-app or by email. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the operator's place of establishment. Disputes should be settled amicably first; if that fails, they go to the competent court there.
